This summer, our Duck Church youth ministry has explored what the Bible says about justice. Our theme verse, Micah 6:8, showed us that God requires us to "act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God." We looked at Scripture to see what groups of people God tells us to care for specifically. And at the end of the summer, our students got a chance to choose one "justice project" to do together. So what did they choose? Caring for the elderly at an Outer Banks assisted living center, Spring Arbor. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Spring Arbor has closed to visitors. Residents feel isolated, scared, and anxious. So, our youth decided to write them notes, make posters of Bible verses, and make a banner to hang in the lobby. We love to serve the Outer Banks community!
